The first clip from next month's Oldboy remake is a dialogue scene between Josh Brolin and Elizabeth Olsen.

Even though nobody takes a hammer to the skull, this scene is intense and sprinkled with menace nonetheless.

A favorite poster trope around here at IAR HQ is when an action movie slips a pistol into the hero's hand as a quick way to let audiences know that the film advertised contains action.

A new poster for next month's Oldboy remake plays with that trope, as Josh Brolin grasps a hammer in such a way that you expect the hooked end will bury itself into a skull or two over the course of Spike Lee's latest.

With Thor: The Dark World hitting in about a month and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airing on ABC, Phase 2 of the Marvel Studios master plan is underway.  Next April, the cinematic Marvel universe is going to welcome a whole bunch of new characters via Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

One of the characters that fans are psyched about is Sam Wilson, aka The Falcon.  Anthony Mackie has offered some insight on the role and his future in the Marvel movies, clarifying in no uncertain terms that though the Falcon is a supporting hero in the sequel, he is definitely not the Robin to Cap's Batman.

The first trailer for next year's RoboCop offers our first official look at just about everything in Jose Padilha's remake, mixing up the new elements with the familiar before ending on a quotation straight from Paul Verhoeven's action-satire.

Based on this introduction, the new RoboCop feels like the sort of rebooting that's become ubiquitous over the last eight-or-so years.  It feels, really, like RoboCop Begins.

Last week we learned that Elizabeth Olsen is in final negotiations to play Scarlet Witch in Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson has long been associated with the role of Quicksilver in Joss Whedon's sequel to the biggest comic book movie of all time.

If you're waiting to hear about a Marvel Studios newcomer joining the cast to portray eponymous villain Ultron, you might just be waiting forever, according to a new rumor that, if true, represents a major spoiler.

"Any time you cast Sam, that the first thing you say. 'What's his hair gonna be like?'" says Spike Lee in a brief interview snippet discussing Samuel L. Jackson's role in November's Oldboy remake.

"So," he continues, "we came up with something that he had never done before."

A new official image, one of four to arrive online today, confirms that Jackson's wig this time is a keeper.  It even appears to top the outrageous wig he sported in Jumper.
